The "shorthand" name in the Speech for the star α (alpha) Aurigae, also known as Capella.
α Aur is approximatly 45 lightyears from Earth and is a golden-yellow type G8 star with the luminosity of approximately 160 Suns. It is half of a binary system too close to "split" except with a telescope. It may be an outlying member of the "Taurus moving group" associated with the Hyades star cluster. (SYWTBAW)
