The undersea mountain chain off the North American coast of which Caryn Peak is an associated feature. This chain runs just north of the Sohm Abyssal Plain, more or less defining its upper boundary.

Since DW was written in the early 1980's there has been a change of nomenclature for this chain, which is now routinely referred to as the New England Seamounts. (DW)
