The "shorthand" name in the SPEECH for the star β (beta) Andromedae, also known as Mirach. (Methchánë is the proper spelling.)

β And is approximatly 75 lightyears from Earth and is a giant red type M0 star with the luminosity of approximately 75 Suns. It has a brown-dwarf companion about 800 times dimmer than the Sun. (SYWTBAW)
