		The "shorthand" name in the  Speech for the star β (beta) Leonis, also known as Denebola.  This is a main-sequence A-type star, similar to Sirius in luminosity (about 20 Suns' worth) and type:  it lies about 43 lightyears from Earth. (SYWTBAW)
