]Older (but not oldest) sister of Kit, Carmela is the "middle child" of the Rodriguez family. Timeline issues yet to be resolved make it unclear exactly how much older than Kit she is (see the discussion area for this page): Carmela is at least two years older than Kit, but possibly more.
Carmela's middle name is Emeda, an unusual acronym made up of the initials of the first names of three of her aunts and two of her uncles. Nothing much is seen of her in the canon until TWD, where she first appears lying around in her bedroom, watching anime (in the original Japanese). This is the first indication of an aptitude for languages which becomes more marked as the series goes on.
Her attitude to Kit's wizardry seems from the start to have been more casual than that of their oldest sister.
