One of the two "lion-gods" whose images guard the entrance to the NEW YORK PUBLIC LIBRARY main branch at 42nd Street and 5th Avenue in Manhattan. As you face the main entrance, Sef is the left-hand one, the lion that humans call "Patience". "Sef" is an Ailurin word for "yesterday", "the past". (TBONWM)
