This sport seems to be something of a passion in the Callahan household. As early as the beginning of DW, Nita's dad is heard to be watching (in the next room) "a base being stolen somewhere in the country", even though the family is already holidaying somewhere in the Hamptons on Long Island.
Later in the series, when Filif is being attired for contact with the human world, he winds up having a baseball cap stuck on top of him...and it is hard to avoid noticing that this is a New York Yankees cap. (Comment is passed on how such a thing can be tolerated in a house theoretically occupied by New York Mets fans. Filif spends the rest of the series, as far as WAW, wearing this cap, which probably indicates something or other. (DW, WAW)
