Patch

In wizardly usage, a custom timeslide used to revert a small area back to the status quo prevailing before some untoward event. Any such patch must be installed with maximum speed, to keep the memories and experiences of beings in the area from "fastening down" the memory of the untoward event too tightly for it to be removed.

Some events, especially those involving massive fatalities over a short period of time, unfortunately are not susceptible to patching.
