Secretly, though, as each Lord questioned it, the Stranger offered the questioner what it most desired, if it would only accept the [[Gift, the | "Gift"]] the Stranger had to give.
-Three of the whale-wizards rejected the Gift: three accepted it, and fell: three were undecided. The vote of the [[Tenth Lord]], the [[Silent Lord]], was required to resolve the issue.
