A series of young adult novels which began publication in the early 1980's. The novels (in order of publication, with first-edition publication dates) are:
- So You Want to Be a Wizard (1983)
- Deep Wizardry (1985)
- High Wizardry (1990)
- A Wizard Abroad (1993)
- The Wizard's Dilemma (2001)
- A Wizard Alone (2002)
- Wizard's Holiday (2003)
- Wizards at War (2005)
- A Wizard of Mars (2010)
- Games Wizards Play (2016)
The series is open-ended, with no scheduled end point, and DD has indicated that she will continue writing Young Wizards books for the foreseeable future. Book 11 of the series is in progress, but its title has not yet been announced.
There are also three books for adult readers in the same universe:
