Gate capable

When used of a culture, a phrase indicating that the culture has mastered the science and/or wizardry necessary to engineer its own worldgates. The phrase is normally used to describe cultures in which gating is done overtly and is a normal part of the culture's everyday experience, whether rooted in science or wizardry. (Earth would not be described as gate capable despite the presence of numerous worldgate complexes on the planet, as they are used and managed almost exclusively by wizards and are not part of mainstream human life.)

The intention in using the phrase is to distinguish gate capable cultures from those which are gate using but have not yet mastered the necessary engineering knowhow (or who, in some unusual cases, have been deprived of it). (AWOM et seq.)
