Sevarfrith

A syllabic acronym for several words in the Speech which, taken together, mean "a place where wizardry must be conducted under cover." Longer forms of the acronym indicate general or specific reasons for the restriction. The simple version is often used as shorthand.

A significant portion of Earth is sevarfrith, though by no means a majority of the planet; and even among human cultures there are some where wizards have no problem practicing out in the open. Industrialized "modern" cultures are routinely most likely to be sevarfrith. (WH)
