Tomato

(Lycopersicon esculentum) A fruit, member of the Solanaceae family and relative of the nightshade group of plants. Nearly all modern tomatoes are descended from a common Central American ancestor, Lycopersicon esculentum var. cerasiforme, a wild cherry-tomato-size variant which the locals called "tomatl" or "xtomatl."

"Lycopersicon" translates as "Wolf peach."

Small or large, hybrid or heirloom, Mamvish really, really likes tomatoes. Don't under any circumstances get between her and a tomato. Canned ones might not attract her attention for short periods, but (relatively speaking) you'd probably be safer holding a can of plutonium. (AWOM)
