South Shore

Not necessarily the southern coastal region of Long Island (though the phrase includes this), but that part of the Island south of the Long Island Expressway, from the Nassau County border to Montauk Point.

The southern parts of the New York City boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens are not normally included when speaking of the South Shore. (SYWTBAW, et seq.)
