Dairine first becomes directly involved with it when the new Apple IIIc computer purchased by the Callahan family turns out to be carrying a beta version of the new Manual software. In TBONWM, the feline Senior wizard Ehef, who works in the stacks at the New York Public Library, mentions that he is involved in an ongoing project to port the Book of Night with Moon into the CATNYP master resource catalog at the library (and theoretically further afield as well).
