Lexington Avenue Local Worldgate

A standalone worldgate affiliated to the Grand Central Terminal gating complex. Previous to the recent Grand Central renovation, this worldgate was positioned at the back of a deli on the station's Concourse level. During the events of SYWTBAW it suffered a dislocation due to structural and electromagnetic disruptions in the area, and wound up some seventy storeys high, so that it could only be accessed from the roof level of the Pan Am Building. Nita and Kit use this gate to access Fred's malfunctioning temporospatial claudication and retrieve the space pen which Fred has accidentally internalized. After Kit's and Nita's return from their intervention, Ffairh -- then head of the Manhattan primary worldgate management team -- had to spend quite a while wrestling the gate back into its proper location again.

During Grand Central's renovation, the deli was removed as part of the restructuring of the former Hyatt Passage. While removations were going on, the worldgate was temporarily tethered to an off-platform area near the Lexington Avenue local tracks. During the events of TBONWM, the Manhattan primary worldgate management team briefly repositioned the Lex gate off Grand Central's main-level track 30.
