Earth's sole natural satellite, also known as Sol IIIa.
The Moon (as a former part of the Earth's mass, long ago "splashed" out of it due to the impact of a third body) is intimately involved in various wizardries which have at their heart the perception of the Other as part of or equal to the self. Its light is routinely used to energize various wizardly tokens, such as the rowan wand Nita uses in SYWTBAW. It is also required for the performance of various other wizardries, especially the periodic reading from the Book of Night with Moon. (SYWTBAW et seq.)
