Dev il Nuiiliat, Miril am Miril

Queen of Wellakh, wife of Nelaid ke Seriv, and mother of Prince Roshaun; Lady Miril's titles include "Sister of the Sun" and "Lady of the Lands of Wellakh". A fair-haired Wellakhit woman, a little short for a Wellakhit, but still nearly 6' 8".

Miril is the most senior of the secondary wizardly line on Wellakh. Since the two lines have been intermarrying for many years in an attempt to protect and possibly improve the hereditary aspect of their wizardry, her marriage to Nelaid may have been an arranged one; but not much is known about the details of such arrangements, and whatever the truth in this case, Miril plainly loves her husband very much, and dotes on her son.

The general impression Dairine gets on meeting Miril is that the Queen of Wellakh is an extremely sweet woman, but also extremely observant, intelligent, and politically astute, routinely acting as a facilitator and peacemaker in the thorny relationship between her husband and her son in both personal and political modes. It was at Lady Miril's urging that Roshaun went on the wizardly excursus to Earth detailed in WH, possibly thereby protecting him from an upcoming attempt on his life. As a most-senior wizardly "royal" and potential user of the Sunstone, Miril herself has been targeted for assassination a number of times. (WAW)
