One of the evil Checker cabs that prowl the streets of the Dark Manhattan.
These are constructs created by the Lone Power, and display Its pet universe's hatred for genuine life as well as a marked taste for blood. Energy-starved like all the other meta-life forms in the Lone One's domain, vampire cabs run with dimmed headlights and normally travel in packs, preying on the other mechanical metalife that roams the gloomy streets.
A pack of vampire cabs, led by the King cab that attacked Kit, hunts Kit, Nita and Fred down Fifth Avenue and traps them against a building there, with near-fatal consequences. (SYWTBAW)
